Favorite thing about the Tasty Residency?

One thing I love about working with Tasty is how enthusiastic everyone is during the content ideation process. In a pitch meeting I remember saying how I wanted to make a french toast recipe with whipped honey butter, but thought it might be too basic. Then I mentioned how I could add the french toast as part of a brunch plate for my daughter (videos I consistently share on my page) then we started chatting ideas about how to make french toast fun/kid friendly, and eventually I said what about french toast sticks with whipped honey butter dipping sauce and we all kinda went “ohh ya that’s it!” and that video ended up performing really well which made me happy because it was the first video I did that was a combination of my typical “plate videos” and Tasty step-by-step recipe videos. 

Where do you find inspiration for your videos?

A lot of my inspiration comes from colorful foods and romanticizing cooking as an act of love. I typically develop recipes and create videos that are a combination of aesthetic and useful. Videos people enjoy watching because it’s aesthetically pleasing and sometimes a bit more aspirational than real life, but also helpful in real life! 

How do you find community with other content creators?

The community of creators on social media is incredible! I find community by following creators I admire and following new creators that are working on building their audience. Supporting other creators' videos by commenting and sharing is one of the best ways to build community on social platforms! Giving proper credit if you found inspiration for a video from someone else's idea is also hugely important. Another way I build community is through attending in-person social events, meet-ups and collaborating on videos either digitally or IRL!
