I Ate Like Simone Biles For A Day And Here's How It Went

Tasty producer, Joelle (@joelleolol), tries eating like Olympic gymnast, Simone Biles, for 24 hours. Literally the breakfast of champions!

I set out to discover what fuels Olympians in their day-to-day lives, and answer some burning questions: do they eat like a ton of protein? Do they feast on superfoods? What is their secret sauce for being a "super human"?

I started off with none other than the G.O.A.T., Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history and one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. Simone has shared that is an intuitive eater, meaning she listens to her body's hunger queues and eats when she is hungry.

Here's what Simone eats on an average day, according to her interview with Women's Health magazine:

Breakfast

For breakfast, Simone sometimes opts to skip "the most important meal of the day." But when she does need that extra fuel, Simone is likely to eat something like oatmeal and fresh fruit to start her day.

Morning Workout Snack

Simone likes to refuel her body with a post-workout protein shake. Protein shakes can help replenish electrolytes lost in exercise and build muscle mass needed to be a pro athlete.

Lunch

Simone loves an easy recipe to throw together for lunch! After an intense morning of working out, who can blame her? She often eats salmon with a side of veggies, with broccoli and green beans being her favorite sides. Corn, peas, and potatoes are also Simone's favs.

Snack

For a mid-afternoon refuel, Simone usually snacks on fresh fruit. But if plain fruit is too boring for you, we have the perfect recipes for you to enjoy.

Dinner

Simone's dinners are often fish or chicken with veggies, but she listens to her cravings on what her end-of-day meal consists of. Sometimes she opts to order takeout. If you want to cook, here are some better-than-take-out meals just for you:

Dessert

Simone loves her sweets! Her favorite dessert she loves to make at home are s'mores cookies.
